I wrote this track to help teach grade one students about the difference between living and non living things in a science unit.

There are many great things in life you see
Things alive just like you and me
Trees plants and animals in our country
Even on my dog that silly flea

If you take the time to look around
just to see what it is that we have found

CHORUS: Not a rock or a car that my Dad drives
Or the house I live in or the bike I ride
But me and you and all of your friends too
All of your friends too

Just the other day when I went swimming
I saw a scary looking fin so then I began to scream and shout
but it was just a tiny little trout

So these living things are not just on land
but in the water swimming as fast as they can

Later on that day I went for a walk
something up above me started squawking
so then I looked up into the air
then a bird pooped right into my hair

So next time that you go outside
watch out! 'Cause these living things are
even in the sky!
